Slow Down Your Anger

A pause can keep irritation from choosing the words, tone and direction of the next conversation.

Make Space for Grace · 26 October–1 November
“One moment of frustration does not have to shape your whole day.”

Ecclesiastes 7:9

Ecclesiastes warns us not to be quickly provoked. Anger can feel urgent and justified while still asking us to act before wisdom has had time to speak.

Slowing down is not pretending that nothing is wrong. It is creating enough space to respond truthfully without letting a passing emotion take control of the relationship.

One faithful step

When irritation rises today, pause, breathe and pray before you answer.
