The psalm calls us to pour out our hearts before God because he is our refuge. Honest prayer does not threaten faith; it practises trust in the One who already knows us.
Name what is present without exaggerating it or pushing it away. Grief, anger, disappointment, fear and gratitude can all be brought into the safety of God’s presence.
