Proverbs tells the shepherd to know the condition of the flock because resources and circumstances do not remain unchanged. Responsible leadership pays attention before a crisis forces attention.
Numbers do not tell the whole story, but refusing to look at them leaves a leader vulnerable to illusion. Review what is happening with cash, commitments, customers and delivery while there is still time to act wisely.
