Give Thanks Before It Changes

Christian gratitude can name the pain honestly and still recognise that God remains present and faithful.

God in the Ordinary · 5–11 October
“Gratitude is not denial; it refuses to let difficulty become the only truth you can see.”

1 Thessalonians 5:18

Paul says to give thanks in everything, not to pretend that everything is good. Waiting until circumstances improve can turn thankfulness into a reaction, while Scripture invites us to make it a practice.

Gratitude may not change the circumstance immediately, but it changes what the circumstance is allowed to hide from you. Grace can still be recognised in strength, support, provision and a small answer to prayer.

One faithful step

Write three specific gifts from today, including one sign of grace found inside a difficult circumstance.

Faith is Not For Sunday Only, It’s For Everyday Life.
